First and foremost, THANK YOU! to all who have donated to the “Change Their Story” campaign. Your dollars are hard at work changing the story for under-served children across Chicagoland.
In the two weeks since we launched this campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bernie’s Book Bank has distributed more than 100,000 FREE BOOKS to local under-served children.
And we’re just getting started.
The extended Stay-At-Home Order means that students now face an additional month at home. Many of these students don’t have access to educational resources or age-appropriate books in their homes. This disruption will inevitably widen the learning gap and leave students struggling to keep up with grade level expectations.
Books will ease this burden and the children we serve are counting on you.
