5th ANNUAL BOOK LOVERS’ LUNCH A HUGE SUCCESS
More than 300 guests gathered at Bernie’s Book Bank for the 5th Annual Book Lovers’ Lunch on May 6th to support book ownership for at-risk children in Chicagoland. Bernie’s Book Bank’s expanded processing center in Lake Bluff, IL was transformed into a literary wonderland to welcome supporters who enjoyed lunch by JdR Catering and insightful (and hilarious!) remarks by New York Times bestselling author Jen Lancaster.
“In 20 years, because of the books these children have been given, we are going to see entire communities changed for the better,” remarked Lancaster in support of Bernie’s Book Bank’s mission.
Bernie’s Bank Bank is grateful for the tremendous support and appreciates all efforts to aid in the collection, processing and distribution of new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
Special thanks to this year’s co-chairs, Jacqueline Babb, Julie Gish and Jill Rossini, as well as our generous event sponsors Coyote Logistics, DLA Piper, Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, The PrivateBank, Walgreens and Webb Financial Group. This was the second year in a row the event was sold out.
